I chose to illustrate a heavily stylized portrait of Jesus for my project. I chose to utilize black and white for my monochromatic illustration because at my core I’m also a photographer and I have a deep-rooted love for black n white photography. I remember as a young girl in church seeing a painting of Jesus in all brown shades, but I think it’s stronger in black n white and more contemporary. Some of my favorite memories are dancing to Steven Curtis Chapman in front of that painting of Jesus. I also want Jesus’s eyes to draw people in and find the small type in Jesus’ hair almost as if Jesus is talking to them.  I am realizing as I get older that everything we should be doing should be for the Lord, to further His kingdom. (Kingdom work) I looked at a photograph from the series The Chosen to depict the illustration of Jesus. I used Jesus’s words form the esv version to detail His hair. This would be a great way to share the gospel, maybe one day in an art gallery. I see this being printed very big 20 x 30 or bigger. My prayer is with the art I create, with the Holy Spirit working threw me, it will draw people closer to God
